Many Torbay residents will have meet Hazel Noonan who volunteers to help at events, surgeries and with much of the work Kevin Foster does as Torbay's MP.
Over the weekend Kevin and Hazel announced that they are now engaged to be Married. The service will take place in June at St Matthias Church in Torquay where they are both part of the Church Family. The news was shared on Sunday morning with the congregation by Rev’d John Beckett who as Rector of the Church will lead the marriage service.
The engagement ring Hazel wears has a special significance as it was given to her by Kevin’s Mother Linda shortly before her death in 2014. Kevin and Hazel got engaged earlier this year but kept it a closely guarded secret whilst they told family and close friends. They now have the task of getting lots of organising done ahead of the big day itself.
Kevin said: “Hazel and I have worked closely together for many years, during which time a close friendship built up. In recent times we grew closer and last year Hazel moved to be with me in Torbay. As our relationship developed I knew the time was right to pop the big question. I am delighted Hazel said yes and we are both very grateful for the love and support our two families have shown when we told them our news.”
