Business and Skills Minister Nick Boles got his just desserts on Friday when he visited a new pudding making factory in Torquay.
The Ministry of Cake bought the sight earlier this year and re-opened it as the Ministry of Pudding after receiving more than £1m of investment, including £150,000 from the Torbay Growth Fund.
The Minister was invited by Torbay Conservative Candidate Kevin Foster to taste the 1,000,001 pudding to roll off the production line.
Kevin said: “It was great to be able to arrange for a Minister to visit the “Ministry” and hear how they are making a success of their investment in the bay.
“The food service industry presents a great opportunity for us to make quality products that can not only be sold to companies nationally, but served to our visitors here ensuring more opportunities for local people."
The firm produces Puddings for the food service industry and clients include Weatherspoons and a number of pub chains.
Nick Boles said: “"It was great to visit the Ministry of Pudding to see how it is providing new jobs in Torquay. Getting to eat the 1,000,001 pudding made on the site was the highlight of the trip! I am pleased that West Country businesses are expanding and delivering new opportunities for local people."
